For optimal performance, we recommend 19-22 momme silk charmeuse for a smooth, glossy finish that minimizes friction and prevents hair breakage; silk satin for a luminous sheen with slightly more structure; and crushed/crinkled silk for a textured, matte look with added grip. All are pre-washed to reduce shrinkage and tested for snag resistance to ensure durability with daily use.

2. What is the internal elastic core made of, and how do you ensure it retains its elasticity and doesn’t deteriorate quickly?

We use a high-rebound, latex-free polyester elastic core that undergoes cyclic stretch testing (1,000+ stretches) to ensure long-term resilience. The core is encased in a silk bias tube before being wrapped, which protects it from sweat and oils, significantly extending its lifespan compared to exposed elastic.

3. Can you produce scrunchies with custom prints, patterns, or embroidered designs? What are the minimums and technical considerations?

Yes, we offer digital printing for complex patterns (minimum 500 pieces per design), woven jacquard silk for integrated patterns (minimum 1,000 pieces), and embroidery for logos or motifs (minimum 300 pieces). Designs must account for fabric gathering; we provide a template and digital mock-up showing the design in both flat and gathered states for approval.

4. What standard and custom sizes do you offer (e.g., thickness, diameter), and how do they cater to different hair types and styles?

Our standard sizes are: Mini (1.5″ dia, for thin hair or children), Classic (2.5″ dia, for medium to thick hair), and Jumbo (3.5″-4″ dia, for thick/long hair or statement styles). We can customize both the finished diameter and the fabric tube width (affecting fullness) with a minimum order of 1,000 pieces per custom size.

5. What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ), and do you allow mixing of fabrics, colors, prints, and sizes within an order?

Our standard MOQ is 1,000 pieces per order. We encourage mix-and-match collections by allowing you to split this MOQ across fabrics, colors, prints, and sizes, with a minimum of 200 pieces per unique SKU (e.g., 200 jumbo charmeuse in blue + 300 classic satin in floral print). This maximizes your assortment flexibility.

6. How do you ensure colorfastness, especially for dark or vibrant colors that may bleed onto hair or other fabrics during washing?

We implement a three-step color-lock process: 1) Pre-mordant dyeing for better dye absorption, 2) Steam-setting to fix colors, and 3) a final cold rinse with a pH-neutral solution. All dyed fabrics pass AATCC 61-2A colorfastness to laundering tests. We can provide test reports and recommend a first-wash care card to include with your product.

7. Can you apply custom branding, such as woven labels, printed tags, or custom packaging? What are the options and minimums?

We offer several branding solutions: Silk satin labels sewn into the seam (minimum 1,000 labels), printed care tags (minimum 2,000 tags), and custom packaging like recyclable paper boxes, drawstring muslin bags, or header cards (minimum order varies by type). We can also integrate QR codes on tags for branding or care instructions.

8. What is your production lead time from order confirmation to shipment, and what does your sampling process entail?

Our standard lead time is 4-5 weeks for orders up to 5,000 pieces. The sampling process is streamlined: we provide a digital design proof within 3 days, followed by a physical prototype within 7-10 days for your approval on fabric, color, and construction. One round of sample revision is included. Rush production (3 weeks) is available for established partners.
