1. What is the grade (e.g., 6A) and momme weight of the mulberry silk used in your scrunchies, and how does it impact durability and hair health compared to lower grades or polyester satin?

We exclusively use 6A Grade, 19-22 momme mulberry silk charmeuse. This high-grade, substantial weight silk has longer, smoother fibers that significantly reduce friction and breakage. Compared to common 16 momme silk or polyester, it is far more durable (withstands 3x more stretch cycles in our tests), retains its color and sheen after repeated washing, and provides a noticeably luxe, non-slippery grip.

2. How is the elastic core constructed to ensure it retains tension and doesn’t snap or degrade quickly, especially with frequent use?

Our core is a high-rebound, latex-free polyester elastic that is braided, not knitted, for superior strength and memory. It is then double-wrapped in a bias-cut silk tube before the final scrunchie is assembled. This dual-layer construction protects the elastic from oils, UV light, and over-stretching, ensuring it maintains >90% elasticity after 500+ uses.

3. Can you produce scrunchies with custom prints, patterns, or woven jacquard designs? What are the minimums and technical considerations for pattern placement on a gathered product?

Yes. We offer digital printing (min. 500 pcs/design) for any pattern and custom jacquard weaving (min. 2,000 pcs/design). For prints, we provide a digital mock-up showing the pattern in both flat and gathered states to ensure the design works aesthetically when worn. Pattern scale and repeat are critical for small items like scrunchies.

4. What sizes (finished diameter and fabric width) do you offer, and how do you recommend sizing for different hair types (fine, thick, long)?

We offer three core sizes:

Mini: 1.5″ dia, 2″ fabric tube – for fine/short hair or children.

Classic: 2.5″ dia, 3″ fabric tube – for medium to thick hair (most popular).

Jumbo: 3.5″-4″ dia, 4″ fabric tube – for thick/long hair or statement styles.
Custom sizes require a minimum of 1,000 pieces.

5. What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ), and what flexibility do you offer for mixing colors, sizes, and prints within an order?

Our base MOQ is 1,000 pieces per order. We offer excellent mix-and-match flexibility to help you build a collection: you can split this MOQ across colors, prints, and sizes, with a minimum of 200 pieces per unique SKU (e.g., 200 Mini in Navy, 300 Classic in Floral Print A, 500 Jumbo in Black).

6. How do you ensure colorfastness, especially for dark or vibrant colors that may bleed onto blonde or light-colored hair?

We implement a three-stage color-locking process: 1) Pre-mordant treatment of the silk yarn for better dye adhesion, 2) Low-temperature steam fixation, and 3) a final anti-migration rinse. All dyed silk passes AATCC 61-2A colorfastness to laundering tests. We can provide test reports and recommend including a “first wash” care instruction.

7. What packaging options do you offer that work for both bulk e-commerce fulfillment and attractive retail presentation?

We provide three tiers:

E-commerce/Bulk: Individually polybagged with header card, packed in master cartons.

Retail Ready: Hanged on custom die-cut cards or displayed in clear acrylic boxes.

Gift/Premium: Sets of 3-5 in branded drawstring pouches or rigid gift boxes.

All packaging can be customized with your logo (MOQs apply).

8. What is your production lead time from order confirmation to shipment, and what does your sampling process include?

Standard lead time is 4-5 weeks for orders up to 10,000 pieces. Our sampling process is clear and efficient: we first provide a digital design proof, then a physical prototype (within 10 days) for your approval on fabric, color, size, and construction. One round of revisions is included. Rush production (3 weeks) is available for established partners.
