1. What types of silk are most suitable for hair ribbons in terms of sheen, drape, and durability? What are the differences between satin, chiffon, and velvet silk ribbons?

We recommend silk satin ribbon for a high sheen and smooth texture, ideal for classic bows; silk chiffon ribbon for a lightweight, airy drape perfect for flowing styles; and crushed silk velvet ribbon for a luxurious matte finish with rich depth. All are made from 100% mulberry silk, with satin offering the most durability for frequent wear.

2. What standard widths and lengths do you offer, and can we produce custom sizes outside your standard range?

Our standard widths range from 0.5 cm (narrow) to 10 cm (wide), with lengths from 50 cm (for small bows) to 2 meters (for wrapping or long ties). Custom widths and lengths are available with a minimum order of 500 meters per specification, and we can produce tapered or graduated-width ribbons upon request.

3. What dyeing techniques do you use to ensure colorfastness, especially for dark or vibrant colors that may be exposed to sunlight or moisture?

We use fiber-reactive dyeing for maximum color penetration and fastness, followed by a steam-setting process to lock in colors. All ribbons undergo ISO 105-B02 lightfastness testing and AATCC 107 colorfastness to water testing. We provide test reports and guarantee minimal color transfer or fading.

4. Can you produce custom prints, patterns, or embroidered designs on silk ribbons? What are the technical limitations and minimums?

Yes, we offer digital printing for intricate patterns (minimum 300 meters per design), screen printing for bold repeats (minimum 500 meters), and embroidery for textured accents (minimum 200 meters). Design complexity, repeat size, and color count will affect cost and feasibility—we provide a technical review for each design.

5. Do you offer eco-friendly or certified silk options, such as GOTS-certified organic silk or OEKO-TEX certified dyes?

We provide GOTS-certified organic silk ribbons and use OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified dyes upon request. These sustainable options require a 30% longer lead time and a minimum order of 1,000 meters. Certificates are supplied with shipment.

6. What finishing options are available for ribbon ends (e.g., heat-sealed, raw cut, angled cut, or folded), and how do you prevent fraying?

We offer laser-cut sealing for a clean, fused edge; hand-rolled hems for a luxury finish; angled cuts for decorative ends; and raw fringe for a bohemian look. All non-fray finishes include a proprietary anti-fray coating applied during manufacturing.

7. What is your minimum order quantity for custom silk ribbons, and how do you handle multi-color or multi-width orders within the MOQ?

Our MOQ is 300 meters per color/width/design combination. For orders with multiple variations, we offer a pooled MOQ system—for example, 3 colors × 2 widths can be produced with a total of 300 meters (minimum 50 meters per SKU). This allows flexible collection development.

8. How do you package silk ribbons for bulk shipment to prevent creasing, tangling, or damage, and can you provide retail-ready packaging?

Ribbons are individually rolled on cores or folded into tissue,
then packed in plastic sleeve protectors or flat-lay boxes. For retail, we offer custom-printed spools, hanging cards, or gift boxes with branded stickers. We can also apply barcodes and SKU labels for inventory management.
